So we started officially learning Thai today! Three hour class. Some of the people are having a hard time hearing the tones or distinguishing them. My three previous months here are helping, but we're all somewhat at the same level - especially because apparently we're learning Thai letters!!!
44 consonants
24 vowels - which double as consonants as the beginning or ending of words - and are arranged next to consonants... or in front of them... or above them... or change position depending on the ending
and no spaces between words
Oy, this is going to be a challenge!!!
Well, back to class now. Living healthy in Thailand is the agenda today.
